Skyline Views was commissioned by the Commissioned by the Oakland Unified School District. The piece is my sonic representation of the jagged textures and industrial vibes that come with living in the city. Within the work there are four sections that repeat. “Staccato con Animato”, “Grandioso”, “Con fuoco”, and “Swagged out maestoso”. Each section encapsulates what I feel are sensations that often come along with the in town lifestyle. In the piece you’ll hear depictions of the outline of the skyline from a distance, the majesty of the skyscrapers up close, and the unwavering determination and unmistakable swag of the city slicker.
